Hi Kristen - thanks for the add. Could I ask which pump you use? I'm currently trying to make a decision.

Hi Tracy:
I read up on your surgery on the internet. WOW! You must have been having some major issues. That is a huge surgery!! The "islet transplant" is interesting to me. I've been reading a lot about that. And any research on the islets reproducing insulin again once the "attacking" of islet has been stopped. But your whole situation is very interesting also. It is amazing how intricate our bodies are.
What do you do in NC? I have a brother that lives in northern SC. He is on dialysis three days a week. He never took too good of care of himself since he was diagnosed with diabetes in his early 20s'. It is rather sad. I have only seen him once in the last 15 years or so. We all were out that way in 2002. My other brother was stationed at the Pentagon (Air Force) and we went out and toured Washington D.C. One day we drove thru NC and went and saw my bro and wife. That was the first time my family had all been together in 10 years.
Take care and keep in touch.

hi! I use a minimed 515 - I've been using minimed pumps for the past 14 years and wouldn't change....my college roomate (also type 1) used minimed, then switched to animas and is wishing she had never switched! I now live in italy and had huge problems in december, and everyone was incredibly helpful and got me a replacement pump really quickly (amazing with italian customs...). let me know if there is anything else I can help you with!
