I knew today was going to be busy. I have an appeal I have to prepare for on an ungodly water bill at the car wash, and I have a stubborn computer problem at another location, I forgot to sign my son up for soccer, etc. etc. etc. And oh by the way, my daughter started on methotrexate last night for her JRA. That actually went well.

And so this morning my pump decided it didn't want to wake back up when I put a new battery in it. AAAAARRRGGGGGGHHHH! I had gone to the gym this morning, so I was late getting my son ready, and Amy was still asleep because she had been up until 4am worrying about Emma. Quick call to Minimed, tried a few things, changed batteries. Nada.

Short story long, it's working now with a cheap battery in it. Whew. I can put away the Lantus.

So to go along with my recent diagnosis of "mild background retinopathy," I today have learned that the mole I had cut from my right temple is in fact basal cell carcinoma. I have an appointment with a plastic surgeon on the 18th to have the area "excised." Gee, that sounds like a big ol' heap of fun, doesn't it? If anyone's ever had this done, let me know what I should expect.
