Hi eveyone.

I've been struggling with a situation that I haven't confronted for quite some time...and today I thought I would ask everyone here for thier thoughts and feedback...! Hope you can help:::

Ok. So, I have this friend, who I will be calling K. She is 17 years old and she has been a Type 1 Diabetic since 2nd grade. I can't imagine growing up all those years with the burden of diabetes, but it is not impossible...( I was diagnosed when i was 12). But anyways, she is 17 years old now and she is, i think, in a serious, serious state of denial. I really want to confront her about it and just talk...but she does not like to talk about it...she never brings it up.

We are really good friends so we go out a lot and hang out with eachother all the time.......and I've noticed many things to have made me feel this way about her situation.

1. Her parents STILL pull up her insulin for her...2. Her parents still remind her (everytime i'm over..idk what they do when im not..but im sure its the same) to check her sugar....3. sometimes she doesnt even check it befoer she eats breakfast or something like that...4 I never see her with her meter when we go out...4. She calls her parents from a sleepover to tell them her sugar and she will have pre drawn up insulin probably that her parents drew for her...5. She is not very controlled..--and doesnt talk about it with me...6. She is on shots and she eats whatever and when ever she wants to...7. I dont think she counts any carbs..idk know what she does cause she never want to talk about it...

and i dont even know what else...there is a lot of stuff. But the fact that her parents DO EVERYTHING FOR HER...is the big killer...like are you kidding me...seriously a 17 year old girl...and she is not doing a thing on her OWN....

I really want to say something..but idk when or how to do so...PLEASEEE DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY THOUGHTS OR IDEAS ABOUT THIS. Her future does not look bright at the moment if she keeps in this careless lifestyle.

Thanks. Jenna.
