My main reason for comming to this site is so that I can find a female with the same condition to spend some time with. I was divorced 4 years ago. My exwife told me she did not get married to be with a sick person. I want to find friends but also a companion. I am a man and enjoy the company of women and I felt that one with the same condition would be more understanding to my needs and concerns as I would also be of hers. I am not just looking for a mate but the company of my fellow diabetics....Diabetics are a special people sent here for a purpose. Our lives mean something. We are good hardworking caring people trying to lead a normal life facing tremendous odds....Is anybody with me????? page

As I stated on my profile I have had insulin dependent diabetes(dd) for over thirty three years and fell into a coma about  5 years ago. In that time I have had a lot of unusual bouts and been close to death more timtes than I can remember. I have been a heavy drinker up too 6 months ago and I now feel that drinking and diabetes really dont mix. I am seeking stories that others may have about low blood sugar moments because I have had some strange things happen to me. I often feel as if I am doing something completely different than what I am acualy doing.I can still take care of myself when my sugar gets to 35. I now have a natural reaction if I catch it before that otherwise I usually pass out and wake up completely covered in sweat. I would like to here from diabetics on dialysis. My kidneys are at about 10% and I am trying to avoid it at all cost. I feel that you have to draw the line somewhere. I now take two to four shots a day and am sick of needles. A shunt scares me too death. Your imput would be appreciated.....page
