Anyone else out there struggling to get thier a1c down to the normal range so they can have a baby??? I have a 4 year old that is perfect in everyway! My blood sugar was the best its ever been while i was pregnant...a1c's of 5.8 and 6's...ever since i've been anywhere from 8.3 (now) to 13! Yipes!!! My endo wants me to be at 7.5 before we start trying but my geez! Its driving me crazy! just wondering if anyone else was having this issue???? Or had this issue and got it in control?? It def helps having a goal to work towards to keep me checking my sugars like i should but no matter how many times i check or how often, i go from one extreme to the next. this morning i was at 258 and was 65, 2 hours later...i'm sure you feel my frustrations. Any suggestions?

i'm trying to work my way down to better a1c's so i can prepare for having a baby as well. honestly, as much of a pain as it is, the best way i've found to control my readings is to eat small meals throughout the day with lower levels of carboydrates and eliminating dairy from my diet. it seems for me that dairy is the biggest down fall for my blood sugars. i'm seeing my endo tomorrow and i'll ask him more on what i should do to become baby ready then. i'd like to know that i can get my readings down and hold them there for x many months before i'm willing to even try for children since my and my baby's health is super important. god luck getting things in order for kid number two and chat me up anytime and we can compare notes on preparing for this. :)
