I am tired of having to inject insulin manually. Am considering a pump. What pumps are good, and which are not so good, guys? |

i'm on a medtronic paradigm and have been on a pump for about 7 years. i'll be honest- it took awhile getting used to having something attached to me full time, but now it's not a big deal and i love it as well! |

You might want to cosider taking an all natural pill I found out about and not have to do insulin at all. Its called Glucotor V.2 . You can go to www,baselinenutritionals.com to read about it and order it. I've just started using it. I took 2 pills before my evening meal and did my regular insulin injection ( 34 units ), the next morning my reading was 68, normally it runs 159 to 230, The next evening I reduced my insulin to 17 units and my morning reading was 67. tonight I will elimiate the insulin and see what happens. |

Anyways, I'm on the minimed paradigm and have been on a pump for over 5 years now. Don't know how I'd ever go back to injections. Totally new way of life with much more freedom - however, I learned the hard way that freedom can come with a price; when i was a teen, I took advantage of the liberating lifestyle. I began to slack off and miss boluses and not test as often as I should. I've improved now, however. And the latest paradigm comes with a testor that sends a signal to the pump of your blood sugar reading. I'm still loving that feature. |

I was very much like you, I hated injecting and I would skip meals or just get myself in such an agitated state when ever I had to shoot .....of course my A1C's reflected that. Then I found out about something called an I-Port. It is a very small canula that you inject every 3 days. Then you take all your injections thru this site. I take a minimum of 7 shots a day, so this meant I only had to inject once every 3 days. It has changed my life. It is simple and easy to use. I love it! The inventor of the I-Port is type 1 so I know it can be used by type 1 and type 2. I have never used a pump and I have thought about it but was skeptical. It looks like the people who use the pump really like it, but it just wasn't a good option for me. I hope you find something that works for you because when your numbers are under controlled you feel so much better, at least I do. Good Luck and if you are interested in the I-Port just go to www.I-Port.com. Good Luck!! Mari |

The pump is total freedom. You won't regret it at all. It is no where near as limiting as it may seem either. |
