Hi, I'm a sped ed teacher! Just a thought, contact the admin building and talk to sped ed department at that level. Sometimes you need to go over the school's head to get what you need! Dana
I love your goals! I think it's great that you want to be a CDE. Good luck at camp this year. I'm going to help at camp colorado for the first time this summer.
I'm still learning what life is like as a diabetic. It's been hard for me to find support, very few people understand the difference in type 1 and 2. Thank gosh for websites like this!!! I'm a special ed teacher and love working with the kids that most teachers blow off. I love history and think about teaching it one day. I play softball and read in my spare time. I love spending time with family and friends. I married the most understanding man on the planet, he gets me through my bad diabetic days.
I agree! Thanks for the welcome - it's so great to have a community of people who "get" each other. For me, it's been 16 years without any kind of support system as a motivator. And I agree that it's frustrating when people don't know that there are 2 different types of diabetes.
oh really. what college?? do you still play? i play center field. or any outfield position...i love softball..kind of..haha. i've been playing since i was 5 and travel ball for about 7 years. but i gave that up this year. and im actually going to play Field hockey in college (im a goalkeeper). but i still play softball for school. we are in our season now!
hey dana! nice to meet you. yea, i'm so excited for my camp this year. You'll have so much fun being a councilor at ur camp in the CO! wow..so your fairly new to this hold diabetes thing huh?!? haha. well, your in a great place for support..thats for sure.
I understand your frustrations with people not understanding the difference between T1 and T2....its hard for some to comprehend when it doesnt really affect them, but maybe someday more ppl will be correctly educated!! :)
thats great you teach...and you play softball...me too! nice to meet you...ps: if you have any questions..im just a comment away =) --Jenna.
