My son Jake was diagnosed at age 10 on 10/1/2003. They had to medivac him to a childrens hospital 1 1/2 hours away because he developed ketoacidosis and was slipping in and out of consciousness. Today he is 14 and going strong. You can visit me at www.mydiabeticteen.blogspot.com.
