I found out that i had diabetes on the 7th jan this year i had the test done in dec but becouse of xmas and work it took 3 weeks to get my results and just in case i was very noughty over xmas having lots of chocolate
When i found out i then had to have full blood test done to check everything else was ok the nurse who took my blood went straight through my vain giving me a massive hematomer from my arm pit to my wrist i had to have a week off work as i could not move my arm and i was in a lot off pain for 10 days my Hb1Ac came back as 7.7 but im not sure if this is very high or not .
the Gp was very quick to get me into the local diabetic clinlc with my first appointment on the 21st jan where i had more blood tests an E.C.G my eye screening and eveything explaned to me they gave me a freedom lite monitor and as i pay for my prescriptions as many lancets and test strips as they could find they also gave me a list of prescriptions to give to my Gp . When i went to pick up my first presciption they had put the wrong test strips on and as im new to this i did not no until i tryed to use 1 and it would not fit in my monitor it took me 2 phone calls and a trip back to the pharmacy to sort this out never mind the £6.85 cost of the wrong strips
So with the loss of earnings and wrong prescription it has cost me a lot of money so far witch im not very happy about .
the good news is i have lost 1/2 st in weight and 8 ins so im hoping i can keep this up and be a lot slimmer by the time i go on my hols in june
