I am a a type 1 diabetic. I was diagnosed in 2000 at the age of 20. I initially was on oral medication, for about 4 months which did not work. I was then put on humalog and lantus until March of this year when I decided to get on the pump. I am currently using the MM 522. I use 1 u/15 g of carbs. I think I think the pump, :) ..still a little hesitant of it. My first A1C was higher than pre pump so we will see.
I have had one hospitalization last August for high ketones (scary stuff).
My biggest issue right now is that I test way way way too much!
I am 29 and live in the Dallas area with my partner of 4 years.(I am the blonde in black in the pic) I am openly gay. I am a hard core democrat! (Go Obama)! I grew up in southern Ca, moved here about 5 years ago. I love Dallas!!! I enjoy anything outdoors, I love old country music, I play Texas hold em at least once a week. I love my family and firends with all my heart and I dont know what I would do without them
